What is the Reformer?

This piece of equipment is like a bed with a wooden or metal frame that uses springs, pulleys, bars & straps to perform over 500 exercises in a variety of positions. Originally developed to offer movement and rehab to the injured, today the reformer offers a more challenging version of matwork exercises. The origins of the pilates reformer date back to the original Pilates studio in New York in the 1920’s and was designed by Joseph Pilates himself.
